Why are other DJs cheaper?

OREGON WEDDING DJS:
- Budget DJs: 800 to 1500

- Mid-tier DJs: 1500 to 2500

- Established pros: 2500 to 3500

- Premium experience DJs: 3500 to 6000+

True high-end, experience-driven DJ companies that emphasize leadership, flow, and MC presence are almost always 3500 to 5000+ minimum.

A DJ is a decision-maker under pressure, and everyone thinks differently.

A DJ is not:

- a chair

- a speaker

- a rental

That’s why price alone tells you almost nothing.

Because with entertainment:

- conversation matters

- chemistry matters

- experience shows up in ways you can’t see on a quote

When we talk about value in entertainment, we’re not really talking about money.

We’re talking about responsibility.

At a wedding, corporate gala, or private event, the person running the sound and music is quietly carrying:

- the emotional pacing of the room

- the flow and protection of the timeline

- the energy between moments

- the transitions between speaking, eating, celebrating, and dancing

- the technical reliability of everything being heard

That responsibility exists whether someone charges $300 or $10,000.

Some DJs offer a simple, minimal service: show up, play music, pack up.

There’s nothing wrong with that. It fits certain events, budgets, and expectations.

Others operate as experience designers... building timelines, guiding moments, preparing redundancies, managing energy, and protecting clients and guests from chaos in real time.

That is a different scope of work.

Most DJ pricing is based on equipment and hours—services anyone can rent.

In fact, it typically costs around $1,500 to rent the equipment used at a standard wedding.

Necessary? Yes.

Emotionally impactful? Almost not at all.

- DJs under $1,500 are typically offering equipment and basic execution.

- DJs above $1,500 are offering something that equipment alone can’t deliver.

- DJs above $2,500 are providing leadership, judgment, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience that shapes how your wedding feels... and how it’s remembered.

Your wedding is an emotional, high-pressure day.

The person making real-time decisions behind the music doesn’t just affect the party; they shape the tone, the memories, and the experience you carry forward together.

Book a call, and we’ll show you exactly why it’s true.

Who picks the music?

Given that we refer to our clients as “creative partners,” we prefer to collaborate with you.

You’re welcome to give us a general idea of what you like and we can do the rest, or you can have full control, selecting each song for the multiple “scenes” throughout your event.

You will get personal access to our FANTASTIC music APP to input all of your song selections.

SONG REQUESTS: Song requests are welcome, and played when they fit our client's vision and the request will benefit the event as a whole.

We also welcome a Do-Not-Play list.

Rest assured our overall style and vibe is a modern-edge, with high class and a touch of ratchet. Frankly speaking, we’re not your grandma’s wedding DJ, however we want to cater the music to all of your guests, including grandma. We will read the room and watch the demographic shift as the party progresses into the night. We’re happy to “go-hard” when the coast is clear.

HERE is a list of songs that work well for most wedding environments, but we are NOT limited to this.

Will our DJ also MC?

Absolutely. This valuable skill influences the overall quality of an event; I.E. seamless, smooth & comfortable transitions. We are well spoken professional presenters who will guide your guests through the events of the evening. We are not stand up comedians, but we are not shy. We will create a warm, informative presentation that will serve as the ‘glue’ to your wedding. Think of us like a ‘timeline manager’ who will make sure that everyone knows where to be and when to be there.

This “ingredient” is unique to each talent and is largely what determines the investment tier our DJs are offered in.

Which DJ will we work with?

Part of the Paradox onboarding process is to talk with our management team. Based on your personality, music preferences, and overall vision, we will determine the best talent tier. Of course, if you already know whom you want to work with, you are welcome to select them. After booking, you will work directly with your performing DJ to plan your event's music, vibe, and flow.

How often do we meet?

Our process includes an initial meeting and at least one creative planning meeting to go over all the timeline, music and logistical details before your wedding (once your online wedding planner is complete). That said, we are available to you throughout the entire planning process. We strive to be easy to reach and highly responsive. Your final details meeting will usually occur 2 - 4 weeks before your wedding.

COVID-19 Policy:

1. COVID-19 is a known and evolving epidemic that has/could affect travel and events worldwide, with continued spread and impacts expected. Cancellation due to known, foreseeable, or expected events are not covered under force majeure clause. However, we are currently accommodating event postponement if a principle client becomes ill with COVID-19.

2. Should government mandates preventing social gatherings within 60 days of event date, that were not in place on the date of booking, all payments will transfer to the new date if client consults the company and DJ prior to selecting a new date.
