Portland, Oregon native Justin Babbitt (DJ paradox) bought his first pair of turntables 13 years ago and has since grown into a multi-talented DJ, whose musical arsenal has no boundaries. For 6 years Justin studied the art of DJing in-between military deployments and college courses. Then in 2006 Justin was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps and founded Paradox Productions as his new career. In 2008 Justin graduated from Washington State University with a bachelors degree in Business and Marketing and became a member of the world famous Bumsquad DJ Crew. Adding
to his already impressive resume, Justin was the Portland Club Spin-off Series Winner in 2009, has earned the Bride's Choice Award 4 times running from Wedding Wire ('10, '11, 12' & '13), Best of Weddings from The Knot ('13) and was voted "Portland's Best DJ" from Wedding Industry Experts ('12 & '13) Oregon Bride Magazine ('12) and Premier Bride Magazine ('11). His ability mix Frank Sinatra, to 2pac, to David Guetta, to Marvin Gaye, to LMFAO, to Jack Johnson, to Jackson 5 and everything in between, while also acting as MC/host, has established him as Portland's go-to DJ/MC for wedding/business events looking for the highest levels of proven professionalism and raw DJ talent.
DJ Paradox was chosen as a spotlight DJ for the exclusive DJ website MixToGo.com, and has been featured on one of the largest radio stations in the nation (KXJM). In January of 2012, Justin was hand selected as a local "Celebrity DJ" to instruct classes for Portland's new DJ School, the Platinum Mixlab. Other instructors include; DJ OG One (Official Portland Trailblazers DJ) and DJ Wicked (featured on VH1's "Master of the Mix"). Current course concept and material for DJ101, DJ201, DJ301 and DJ401 was developed and produced by DJ Paradox.
Reaching beyond the wedding, radio, nightclub and academic industries to the ears of the corporate elite, DJ Paradox
has performed for such business giants as: Nike, Mercedes Benz, Macys, Fox 12, Redbull, Roxy, Scratch Music Group, Adidas, L.A. Fitness, The Food Network, Portland Fashion Week, Versace, H&M, Energy Events, Comcast, and numerous others.
The talent and professionalism of DJ Paradox continue to shatter stigmas, while impressing across styles, genres and demographics. While
Justin's love for music and DJ culture run deep in his veins, most
important to him are his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, his beautiful
wife (coordinator Jen) and their two redheaded boys, ages 3 & 7. Driven
by his passion for music and people, Justin strives for
greatness in all his endeavors. It’s no wonder he is considered the all-inclusive "Party-Rocker!"
What brides are saying about DJ Paradox:
Melina Jordan - My new wife Melina and I want to give our sincerest thanks to Paradox
for making our wedding reception an amazing experience for everyone!
Melina and I both have very particular tastes and had a unique vision
for our wedding reception, and Justin and his staff worked with us every
step of the way to ensure that things went perfectly. They know how to
get the people up and dancing, while still expressing the bride and
groom’s musical tastes. They can set up to meet any music, video, and
aesthetic expectations, and their knowledge and experience are
incredibly helpful where planning and scheduling of wedding events is
concerned (the whens, wheres, and hows). Justin is a true professional,
and his experience in the wedding event industry makes any vision
achievable. We can’t thank Justin enough, and recommend Paradox to any couples out there who want their special day to be
the most fun and unforgettable experience ever!
Danielle - Justin is an AMAZING wedding professional. Our dance floor was PACKED
all night thanks to him and his ability to read the crowd and keep them
moving. The ceremony/reception planner on the website could not have
made it any easier to pick our music, and any time I had a question, he
was incredibly prompt with an answer and/or suggestions. All around, an
incredible vendor who had a huge part in making our wedding a day we
will never forget. We cannot recommend him highly enough.
